Delta Dental Coverage Availability & Fees
Like with most dental insurance plans, your coverage availability and fees with Delta Dental will depend on the terms of your policy. Different policies have different terms, so it’s important to have a general understanding of what your plan entails. The Delta Dental PPO line of plans, for example, will provide coverage regardless of whether you visit a dentist who’s in-network or out-of-network (though you’ll receive more coverage by seeing one who’s in-network). The HMO plan, meanwhile, only provides coverage if you visit a dentist from the list of in-network practices (or if you’re experiencing a dental emergency).
Delta Dental PPO plans are also subject to deductibles. Biannual checkups and cleanings are usually exceptions to this rule and will always be eligible for coverage, but coverage for all other services usually doesn’t “kick in” until you’ve spent the amount of money outlined by your deductible out of pocket.
After you meet your deductible for the year, you can expect to receive between 50% to 80% coverage for dental care.

If your Delta Dental plan has a list of “in-network” and “out-of-network” dentists, you’ll receive different amounts of coverage for the same service depending on who you visit. Since our office is considered in-network, for example, we’ll be able to apply the fullest extent of your benefits to your care.
